Insurance

As from 2nd June 2008 we have been insured by Zurich and the third party cover has been increased to £10M. Cover includes everything we had before but their children and vulnerable adults policy requirements are less stringent than our previous insurers.
This policy now covers club members flying whilst representing the club any where in Europe. Also as from 1st June 2010 we are offering individual insurance to club members. This means that UK resident members are covered flying any time world wide. Parachuting of soft toys is included within both policies.
See the forum for details and let us know if you are interested as there is a minimum number requirement.
Please can all members ensure that the details they have supplied on their membership application are up to date. It is now imperative that our records are accurate with the ever more stringent requirements of our insurers.
Remember your club membership runs from AGM to AGM and if you have not renewed within 4 weeks of this date your membership will be considered to have lapsed. In this event your insurance will be void and can not be back dated.
The committee apologize for these draconian measures but they are beyond our control.
Our insurers are now basing the cost on the number of members insured. This will mean that we will have to make an additional charge for any family member to be covered by the general insurance.
Membership fees from November 2011 are £14 for membership plus £5 per additional member.

We are sorry to announce that as of 2012 there will be no Swindon Kite festival. This is due to lack of support and funding. We will now be holding a Fun Fly in September for kite flyers. Members of the public are welcome but they will not be covered by insurance and there are no facilities. For details please click on the link below.

In the event of any sort of accident or near miss it is now mandatory that you complete the BKFA Accident reporting form, also any problems of CPA contraventions must be reported to the club chairman.
